McCaig’s Tower

Argyll Coastal Route

Dominating the town skyline, McCaig’s Tower was built in 1897 as a monument to the local McCaig family. From here you can admire views across Oban and out to the islands of the Inner Hebrides. Make sure you have time to browse the town’s shops before you make your onward journey, such as Oban Chocolate Factory, and visit Oban Distillery. As you head north out of Oban look out for Dunollie Museum, Castle and Grounds with its ivy-clad ruins.
