Logan Botanic Garden

South West Coastal 300

After experiencing the exposed, rugged coastline, it might be difficult to believe that a true exotic paradise lies just 25 minutes up the road. In fact, this part of the region is famed for its many gardens. The warmth of the Gulf Stream means leafy palm trees and sub-tropical species, such as fuchsias and African daisies, flourish at Logan Botanic Garden; the place is awash with vibrant colour in the spring and summer months. If you’re peckish, the Taste Our Best-awarded Potting Shed Bistro is the place to refuel and try some delicious local produce, or head north to nearby Stranraer where there are more dining options and places to stay as well as attractions, such as the Castle of St John, to explore.
